Haohao Zhang

Haohao Zhang works on the history of knowledge in Britain from the early modern period to the nineteenth century, with interests in literature and science, experimental culture, material texts, and the practices through which judgments were made and recorded. His current research examines how literary and scientific forms emerged through material operations such as measurement, optical adjustment, copying, calibration, and archival retention. Recent work includes projects on Coleridge, Wedgwood, clay, light, and Romantic form; Victorian optics, glass, and analogy; and early modern manuscript culture.
